In April of 2010, I was offered a chance to join Team Chivalry to work on a UDK-based sequel to Age of Chivalry, one of the most popular Half-Life 2 mods ever. One of my favorite weapons to model was this gigantic two-handed maul. It was modeled in 3DS Max, then exported to Mudbox for high-polygon sculpting. I was taught a neat trick about specular maps on leather by a fellow artist. Below are a collection of images taken from Unreal Engine 3.
